Grand Theft Auto VI will take up 210GB of space for its standard edition, according to a PlayStation Game Size post published on October 27, 2026. That is double the file size of Red Dead Redemption 2, the earlier open-world game from the same publisher, Rockstar Games. GameSpot reported the same figure on the same day.

The game launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation Game Size lists the release time as midnight. Rockstar first confirmed the November 19 date in a newswire post dated November 6, 2025.

Players who want to be ready on launch day can use preloading, which lets them download a game before it unlocks. For this release, preloading begins on November 12. With a 210GB download, that early window gives a lot of time to finish before the midnight start.

The standard edition is listed at US$79.99, according to PlayStation Game Size. Pre-orders, which reserve a copy before release, opened on June 25, 2026, on digital storefronts and at select retailers. Rockstar announced that date on June 18, 2026. Digital storefronts are the online shops where games are bought and downloaded directly, such as the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store.

The story is set in Leonida, a fictional state, and returns the series to a modern-day Vice City. Rockstar has also announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, an official soundtrack made with Atlantic Records. It launches on November 19, the same day as the game.

For anyone planning a download, the figure to note is 210GB. Storage space on a console or PC is limited, so checking free space before November 12 is a practical first step. Rockstar has not announced any change to the November 19 date.
