Tokischa Says She Wants a Very Dramatic Acting Role

Singer Tokischa told a panel at Billboard Latin Music Week 2026 that she would love to play a very dramatic character, and she described the kind of part she has in mind.
The "Film and Music" panel took place on Oct. 20, 2026, at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach, Florida. The session explored how film and music meet in Latin storytelling. It was moderated by Rebeca León, CEO of Lionfish Entertainment, and Tokischa spoke alongside actor Carlos Sanson Jr. and producer Scott Budnick. Billboard reported her remarks. Latin Music Week is a Billboard event made up of panels and talks on the business and creative sides of the industry.
Tokischa's acting debut is in House of Guerrero, where she plays Xochitl Romero. The film is directed by Gina Rodriguez, who is making her debut as a feature film director. Its cast also includes Rodriguez as Paloma Guerrero, George Lopez as Alejandro Guerrero and Rosario Dawson as Elsa Guerrero.
Sanson plays Alex Guerrero, a former boxer trying to restart his career in the ring. He is best known for playing Santiago "Santi" Hernández in the TV series Bump. Becky G plays Maya, who has an on-and-off romantic relationship with Alex.
The film was produced by Wayfarer Studios, 1Community and I Can And I Will Productions. It was shot in Los Angeles and in California's Imperial Valley. It does not yet have an official release date.
On stage, Tokischa said she wants a role with "something really strong." As an example, she named "a drug addict, maybe somebody that lost somebody." She said she would like to take on a dramatic part and "really portray that."
Her comments give a sense of where she hopes her screen work goes next. For now, there is no date yet for when audiences will see her in the role.
