Sam Hulick, a composer for the Mass Effect trilogy, plans to release a re-scored version of the Mass Effect Universe trailer for N7 Day. He announced the plan in a post on his X account on 27 October 2026, according to Sam Hulick's X post.

N7 Day is a fan celebration of the Mass Effect series. The name comes from N7, the military designation that runs through the games' science-fiction story.

The trailer, known as MEU, has a more unusual history. According to Eurogamer, it was an internal presentation for EA and BioWare management. Its purpose was to show what the fifth Mass Effect game would be like. That game has since been cancelled. The trailer's music and assets were never meant for the public.

Hulick's post said he is busy pitching for a new game. He wants the rescore to properly reflect his musical vision for MEU, and he does not want to rush it. The new version is his own work, built on the same kind of big, cinematic sound that made the trilogy's music memorable to many players.

Hulick is not the only composer to have tied his name to the project. Austin Wintory has posted 20 minutes of music he shared with BioWare staff in 2025, when he hoped to work on Mass Effect Universe. That material gives a sense of the wider interest in the unreleased game among people who write music for it.

Hulick's own website describes him as a Composer for Film & Interactive Media. Interactive media is a catch-all term for work where the audience's choices shape what happens, such as video games.

For fans who never saw the original presentation, a rescored trailer offers a first public listen to the work. For the composers involved, it is a chance to put their own stamp on material that was once confined to a closed room at BioWare. Hulick's post does not promise a particular sound, only that the work will be done carefully.
