The concert film Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning opened on 28 October in more than 15,000 cinemas across 132 countries. The release is handled by Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios, Billboard reported. The film runs nearly two and a half hours.

It records the Back to the Beginning concert, held on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. The show lasted about 10 hours and brought Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath back together on one stage. Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025, aged 76, 17 days after the concert.

Filming was on a large scale. Tim Van Someren gathered about 200 hours of footage on the day, using more than 20 cameras. Director Ben Wainwright-Pearce did not group Ozzy Osbourne's five songs together. He spread them through the film, so they arrive at different points in the story of the day.

Sharon Osbourne attended premieres in both Los Angeles and London. She said watching the film is still "very hard" for her. Seen on a big screen and up close, she said, Ozzy shows every pore on his face and every expression in his eyes. She also said he was in agony and had trouble breathing while he got through his performance.

Mercury Studios announced the release on 16 September, through Ozzy Osbourne's official website. The first official trailer followed, showing clips from the day.

Fans who want to keep the concert can buy it for home viewing in three formats. The Deluxe Box Set includes the film on 4K Ultra HD and HD Blu-ray discs, which are high-definition disc formats, along with a soundtrack of full performances from Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. A CD and two-disc Blu-ray edition pairs the live soundtrack with the film. A limited edition offers two vinyl LPs and two Blu-ray discs.

For a concert that ran for most of a day, the film is a way to see the whole event in one sitting. It is also a way for the people who were there, and those who were not, to hear the songs in the order the director chose.

Cinema listings and ticket details will vary by country, so check local screening times before heading out.
