John Proctor is the Villain sets West End dates and full cast at Wyndham's

The Royal Court's sold-out production John Proctor is the Villain will play a strictly limited 12-week season at Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End, from 2 February to 24 April 2027. The full cast for the move was announced on 29 October 2026, according to WhatsOnStage.
The show began at the Royal Court's Jerwood Theatre Downstairs as part of the theatre's 70th anniversary season. Its West End run is a transfer, meaning the production moves from its original venue into a commercial theatre in the centre of town. The play is written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Danya Taymor.
It is a response to Arthur Miller's The Crucible, which had its London premiere at the Royal Court in 1956. Belflower's play goes back to that story and reworks it for a new audience, so the link to the theatre's own history runs through the whole project.
The production also crossed the Atlantic. Its 2025 Broadway run at the Booth Theatre earned seven Tony Award nominations, the main prizes in American theatre. The nominations included Best Play and Best Actress in a Play for Sadie Sink.
The West End cast is led by Sadie Soverall as Shelby Holcomb and Lauryn Ajufo as Nell Shaw. Molly McFadden plays Bailey Gallagher, and Dónal Finn plays Mr Smith. The rest of the named company is:
- Charlie Borg as Lee Turner
- Reece Braddock as Mason Adams
- Holly Howden Gilchrist as Beth Powell
- Miya James as Raelynn Nix
- Amy Macken as Ivy Watkins
Alfie Craig, Anna Francis, Thalia Gambe, Ada Grey and Tom Milligan complete the cast.
Behind the scenes, Sarah Laux is credited with costume design. The scenography is by AMP featuring Teresa Williams. Tilly Evans-Krueger is movement director, Gigi Buffington is voice and dialect coach, and Julia Horan CDG is casting director. Sonia Friedman Productions lists the West End production among its shows.
The season is fixed at 12 weeks, so the run has a set end date of 24 April 2027. Anyone wanting to see it will need to watch for ticketing details from the producers and Wyndham's.
