John Stamos and the California Sound Take Beach Boys' Epcot Slot

John Stamos and the California Sound will perform at Epcot in Orlando, Florida, on Nov. 11 and 12. Billboard reported that the two dates take the place of the Beach Boys, who had been booked for that slot in the park's Eat to the Beat concert series.
Eat to the Beat is a run of live shows at Epcot, the theme park at Walt Disney World Resort, held alongside the park's food and drink festival. The Beach Boys' own tour page lists a Nov. 11 show at the park's America Gardens Theatre.
The change follows concerns about Mike Love's health. Love, 85, is the only remaining original member of the Beach Boys. According to Billboard, he is dealing with a serious health issue and has taken leave from touring after raising concerns following shows in Cincinnati and Nashville. At those concerts he appeared frail and performed from a chair.
The band had already moved its summer dates. Variety reported in July that the Beach Boys had postponed the rest of their summer concerts.
Billboard also reported that the Beach Boys remained listed as headliners for a Nov. 13 show at Hard Rock Live in Bristol, Virginia. Fans with tickets for that date should check with the venue for the latest information.
Stamos is a familiar face in the band's world. He has played drums on Beach Boys tours for more than four decades and has recorded with the group in the studio. Variety describes him as a frequent guest star of the band. USA Today describes John Stamos and the California Sound as a new act, the name under which he will take the stage at Epcot.
For the Beach Boys, the coming weeks mean a schedule that has shifted several times this year. For Stamos, the Epcot dates bring a return to a stage he has shared with the band for decades, this time under his own banner.
