Fox Sports ended the Milwaukee Brewers' first World Series win with a tribute that let the late Bob Uecker call the moment, using only his real voice.

The Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in the best-of-seven series, which is the set of games that decides the championship. The clinching Game 5 was played on Wednesday night, October 28, in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was the franchise's first World Series title in its 57-year history, and MLB.com reported it was the city's first since 1957.

Fox announcer Kevin Burkhardt introduced the segment during the broadcast. The video runs about a minute. Fox Sports' website lists it at 1 minute 11 seconds, under the title "Brewers' World Series Title Through the Legendary Words of Bob Uecker." Deadline reported that the audio was real, not generated by artificial intelligence. It was stitched together from Uecker's calls of Brewers playoff runs over the past decade, from the 1982 World Series, and from highlights of this year's series.

The piece ends with Uecker's own words: "They have done it! They are the champions." Derek Jeter paid tribute to Uecker on the Fox broadcast after the video aired.

Uecker was the voice of Brewers games on the radio for 54 years. Fox Sports reported that he died in January 2025, at age 90, from small-cell lung cancer. Before this year, the Brewers had reached the World Series only once, in 1982.

For Milwaukee fans, the clip gives them a way to hear a familiar voice at the moment they had waited decades for. Broadcasters often use old tape in tributes, but this one was built to match a new result to an old call, all within a single minute of air time.

Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich was among those tied to Uecker's legacy in Fox's coverage of his death. The title itself, though, belongs to the players who finished the series on the field in Florida.
