First Pictures From The Other Bennet Sister Christmas Special Show Mary's Married Life
Mary Bennet is settling into married life, and fans now have the first pictures to prove it. Variety has published new first-look images, meaning the first pictures released ahead of a show's return, from the Christmas special of The Other Bennet Sister.
The special is three parts long and picks up after Mary and Tom have wed. Ella Bruccoleri plays Mary, and Dónal Finn plays Tom Hayward. Filming has recently wrapped in Wales.
The special is produced by Bad Wolf, the UK production company, for the BBC and BritBox, the streaming service. Sarah Quintrell has written all three episodes. She also wrote nine of the original season's 10 episodes. Asim Abbasi returns to direct.
Several familiar faces are back. Ruth Jones returns as Mrs Bennet, and Tanya Reynolds returns as Caroline Bingley. Laurie Davidson is back as Mr Ryder, and Poppy Gilbert returns as Lizzie Darcy. Maddie Close plays Jane Bingley again, Grace Hogg-Robinson returns as Lydia Wickham, and Molly Wright is back as Kitty Buncock.
Nerys Amber Stocks is new to the cast. She plays Lucy, the Haywards' housekeeper.
The series has a sizeable audience already. Variety reports that The Other Bennet Sister had 6.5 million viewers in its first 28 days. Episode 1 has since climbed to 9.5 million viewers, according to the same report.
Where to watch depends on where you live. In the U.S. and Canada, the special will air on BritBox. In the U.K., it will be on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
The one thing still missing is a date. A release date has not yet been set for the Christmas special, so viewers will have to wait for an announcement before they can plan their Christmas viewing.
