Backstreet Boys Join the Global Gaming League

The Backstreet Boys have joined the Global Gaming League, a competitive gaming organisation, and will compete as Backstreet Gaming. Rolling Stone reported the move on 29 October 2026. The team is also called Backstreet Gamers.
The group's team will have four members. They will compete in live events that the league assembles and runs in front of crowds. Nick Carter said the band is building a team to compete together and enter the league to win.
The league describes itself as a first-of-its-kind gaming entertainment league and as the first and only multi-title gaming league. In other words, teams play several games rather than one. Its line-up can include Call of Duty, Rocket League, Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, according to Rolling Stone's report.
The league was founded by Clinton Sparks, who is its CEO. Other musicians have already entered. T-Pain, Ne-Yo and Flavor Flav have each launched their own teams through the league. At the Global Gaming League Season Zero launch event in Las Vegas, T-Pain's Nappy Boy Grizzlies faced Ne-Yo's Gentleman's Gaming. Ne-Yo won a Tekken match, a fighting game.
Players who want a place on a team can take part through GGL Primes, the league's programme for gamers. Participants compete in tournaments there, and those who stand out can be drafted onto celebrity-owned teams. Anyone interested is directed to join at GGLPRIMES.com.
The band is also adding a show to its Las Vegas residency. The Backstreet Boys said on their official website that they have added a date for Into the Millennium at Sphere, the domed venue in Las Vegas, because of fan demand. The new show is on 29 December 2026. The residency first opened at Sphere in July 2025.
For fans, the news is two very different nights out. One is a concert in a venue built for big screens and sound. The other is a live gaming event in which a band's name is attached to a team. Both sit in the same year for the group.
