Trump aides helped Flávio Bolsonaro leave Brazil, New York Times reports

The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump and his aides helped Flávio Bolsonaro flee Brazil for the United States. The departure followed Bolsonaro's loss in Sunday's presidential election, according to the New York Times.
Brazilian police asked Bolsonaro to hand over his passports on Monday, and he set off for the United States shortly afterward. Brazil's Supreme Court, the country's top court, also ordered police to seize his passport that day, according to New Republic. The New York Times reported that he went through Argentina on the way.
Bolsonaro faces multiple criminal investigations, according to PBS NewsHour. He has denied that he fled. He said he left Brazil to protect himself and his family, according to Reuters, which also reported that he was expected to land in Miami.
Trump said he approved of Bolsonaro coming to the United States, Reuters reported. NBC News reported that Bolsonaro and his family will receive U.S. visas.
Details of the escape have also emerged. The Wall Street Journal reported that the operation involved decoys and a private jet. Separately, a former Argentine intelligence chief said that Santiago Caputo, a senior aide to Argentine President Javier Milei, monitored the operation from Puerto Iguazú.
