A new faith-based comedy series called Shelf Life will premiere in 2027, and it is already in production. Angel is behind the show, and it will be available only on the Angel platform, which is what industry people call an exclusive release.

Deadline broke the news. The show stars Jim O'Heir and Zachary Levi. The wider cast includes Wesam Keesh, Donna Biscoe, Tommy Woodard, Jonathan Charles, Leilany Celeste, Jazelle Villanueva and Brittany Visser.

The story follows a former pastor who has been removed from the pulpit. He now works at a local grocery store. Faith-based means the show's themes come from religious belief, and here that belief sits at the centre of a comedy.

Brian Cates created, wrote and directed the series. Richie Johns is a producer on the show, which is made by Milk & Honey Studios. The same producers made The Promised Land, a Biblical drama.

For viewers, the news is mostly about timing. The show is being made now and will arrive next year, so the next thing to watch for is an official premiere date from Angel.
