American Horror Story Renewed for Season 14 as Season 13 Ends

FX has renewed American Horror Story for a 14th season, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 30 October 2026. A renewal means the network has ordered more episodes after the current run. The news arrives as season 13 reaches its finale, titled "Devil of a Good Time."

Season 13 premiered on 24 September on FX and Hulu. Its central villain is Satan, who appears as young Mr. Nas. Paul Anthony Kelly plays the role. The season follows a battle between the Coven, a group of witches, and Satan.

Ben, played by Joey Pollari, is revealed to be Satan's son. Kelly told The Hollywood Reporter that Satan's plan for Ben was to make him second in command and pull him into the family business. Jessica Lange plays two characters, the twin sisters Constance Langdon and Fiona Goode. She also plays their mother, Sister Jude. Their father is Satan.

In the finale, young Mr. Nas kills his medical specialist, Mr. Phibes, played by John Waters. He also kills the older version of himself. Ben stabs himself in the heart with a sword, turns to ashes and defeats Satan. Mr. Nas ends up trapped inside The Last Supper painting, a fate Constance hinted at when she first met Ben in the premiere.

Other threads close in the finale too. Madison, played by Emma Roberts, gives birth to a daughter right after she has sex with Ben. When Madison appears dead, Mr. Nas brings the newborn back to life. Mallory, played by Billie Lourd, travels through time again. She and Cordelia, played by Sarah Paulson, conclude that Ben must sacrifice himself. Fiona also teaches Constance the basics of witchcraft, a hint at where Constance may fit within the Coven.

Kelly has been talking about the role in public. He appeared live on GMA on 28 October to discuss the finale. He told The Hollywood Reporter there is "some good" in Mr. Nas. He also said the season has 13 episodes, and that about five were written when he joined. Writing continued during filming, which is common on series that are produced as they air. At the time of the interview, he was shooting The Housemaid's Secret.

For viewers, the practical news is simple. The finale closes out season 13, and a 14th season is now confirmed. Season 13 can be watched on Hulu, according to FX. No premiere date for season 14 has been announced.
