Three more actors have joined the cast of Rules of Prey, the crime thriller that MGM+ has ordered. Peter Outerbridge, Cody Ray Thompson and David Klein are now series regulars, meaning they appear in every episode, according to Deadline.

Outerbridge plays Sloan, a veteran Minneapolis Police Department detective. Klein plays Peter, another detective in the same department. Thompson takes the role of Louis, an overworked legal researcher.

They join Jensen Ackles, Lucy Fry and Amanda Brugel, who were announced earlier as series regulars. Ackles stars as Lucas Davenport, a former Minneapolis detective. Fry and Brugel's roles were not part of this announcement.

The show has a clear literary root. It was created by Bruce Terris and is based on the first novel in John Sandford's Prey series, which has followed Davenport through a long run of crime books. Sandford's stories have long been popular with readers who enjoy police procedurals, the kind of crime drama built around detectives working a case from start to finish.

MGM+ gave the series the green light in September, meaning the network committed to making it. Rules of Prey is being produced by MGM Television and Take 5 Productions. It will run for eight episodes.

The series is set to premiere on MGM+ in a long list of territories: the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile. That reach means the same story will reach viewers on several continents, in more than one language.

For the actors, the news is simple. Three new names are now on the call sheet for a show that will need a full cast for every episode. For viewers, it means a clearer picture of who will be solving the case, and who will be standing in their way.
