Tovah Feldshuh says there are no rising tensions on the set of Netflix's Nobody Wants This, despite a public debate over co-star Adam Brody's comments about Gaza.

Feldshuh, who plays the mother of Brody's character, Noah, posted on Threads on 31 October (GMT). "Tensions are NOT RISING," she wrote. "Profound differences of opinion are. Please do not conflate the two. And none of it will be brought to the set." The post has drawn 94 replies and 133,000 views, according to the Threads page.

The debate started with an interview Brody gave to GQ about the war in Gaza. The Hollywood Reporter quoted him saying: "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine." Entertainment outlets including Deadline and Variety covered those remarks in late September.

Feldshuh has disagreed with him in strong terms. She told the New York Post: "To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild." She has also said she deeply enjoys making the show and hopes it is chosen for a fourth season. In the television business, a new season is a renewal, meaning the streamer decides to order more episodes.

The show's creator, Erin Foster, also responded. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she said the situation was "complicated" and that, while she loves Adam, she disagrees with him.

For viewers, the story is mostly about what happens behind the scenes. A cast can hold strong and different views and still keep working together, and Feldshuh's post makes clear she wants the disagreement kept away from the set. Whether that holds through production is something only the cast and crew will show over time.
