Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal Swap Marvel Roles for Halloween

Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal traded Marvel roles for Halloween, each dressing as the other's character.
Downey went out as Mr. Fantastic, the role Pascal plays in Avengers: Doomsday. Pascal came as Doctor Doom, the character Downey plays in the same film. Deadline reported the costume swap on 1 November 2026, the day after Halloween.
Downey shared a video of the switch on Instagram. He captioned it "Victor. Richard. Costume swap!" Each name points to the character each actor was playing in the video, so the joke was clear to anyone who knows the films.
The swap comes with about seven weeks to go before the film's release. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to premiere in theatres on 18 December 2026, according to Marvel's own teaser announcement, published in January. Marvel's film page describes the story as following heroes from three different universes. Chris Evans also returns as Steve Rogers, a role he has played across earlier Marvel films.
Actors often post playful costume bits during a film's build-up, and this one puts two of the film's biggest names into each other's shoes. Neither actor has announced anything about the film's plot or release beyond the date already on the calendar.
