PUBG Is Heading to Netflix as a Live-Action Series Starring Donald Glover

Krafton, the South Korean company behind the game PUBG, has announced a live-action series based on it for Netflix. Donald Glover is set to direct, write, executive produce and star in the show.
Krafton made the announcement on 30 October 2026. Deadline had reported the project two days earlier, on 29 October 2026, and Variety and Gizmodo covered it the same day. Eurogamer has since published its own details, including the production team.
PUBG stands for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It is a battle royale game, in which dozens of players parachute onto a map and fight until one is left standing. The game has become one of the best-known titles of its kind, and the Netflix series will take that premise to the screen as a drama.
Glover is an Emmy winner, best known for acting and writing on television. His brother, Stephen Glover, is also attached as a writer and executive producer, according to Deadline. Krafton's entertainment arm, LV3H, is developing and producing the show.
Several other producers will share executive producer credits. Michael Schaefer represents Neon TV, Fam Udeorji represents Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee represent LV3H. An executive producer is a senior credit that usually covers funding, creative direction and oversight of a production.
Netflix is no stranger to adapting games. Gizmodo described PUBG as the streamer's next live-action game adaptation, which places it in a line of screen versions of popular titles. Netflix has not yet said when the series will premiere, and no release window has been announced.
For PUBG players, the news means the game's world will be seen by viewers who have never played it. For the rest of the audience, it is a chance to see a battle royale story told through characters rather than gameplay. Further details about the cast beyond Glover, the plot and the release date have not been announced.
