Keeley Hawes to Lead Season Two of Sky Thriller Prisoner

Keeley Hawes will star in season two of Prisoner, the Sky thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She plays Dr Regan Weaver, a brilliant psychologist and a notorious prisoner.
The new run has six episodes. It picks up with Amber Todd, a prison transport officer, who is framed for murder. She is forced to go on the run with Weaver. Izuka Hoyle returns in the role of Amber Todd. Hoyle has previously appeared in Boiling Point and Big Boys, according to Sky.
Three new cast members have been confirmed: Solly McLeod, David Dawson and Elijah Cook. They join a returning group that includes Catherine McCormack, Leonie Benesch, Finn Bennett, Ken Nwosu, Daniel Betts, Jessica Barker-Wren and Michele Austin.
Matt Charman created the series and writes season two with deputy showrunner Sophie Petzal. Anthony Philipson directs the opening episodes, and Kasia Adamik directs later ones. Derek Ritchie is series producer. The executive producers are Charman, Foz Allan, Petzal, Otto Bathurst and Adrian Sturges, the last of whom represents Sky.
The show is made by Binocular in association with Sky Studios. The Welsh Government, through Creative Wales, supported production. Sky said filming was set to begin later this year.
Season two will air on Sky in the UK and Ireland. Sales to other countries are handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, the company's unit that licenses shows to broadcasters and platforms outside the home market.
Season one starred Tahar Rahim. Season two moves the story to a new chase, with a new cast of characters around Hawes and Hoyle. Viewers will want to know when the episodes arrive. Sky has not yet given a broadcast date.
