GTA 6 Arrives November 19, Digital Only, at US$80 and US$100

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, and it will only be sold as a download. Publisher Rockstar Games is offering a Standard Edition for US$80 and an Ultimate Edition for US$100, according to GameSpot's buying guide.
The game has no physical disc. The US$80 edition sold in shops contains only a code in the box, which unlocks the download. The US$100 Ultimate Edition is sold only through digital storefronts, the online shops that sell and deliver games to a console or computer. Players who buy the game this way also need an internet connection to install it.
The game requires a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X|S to play. It has not been announced for Nintendo Switch 2 or PC.
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Rockstar's newswire said they were available on digital storefronts and at select retailers. Rockstar's support pages say that digital pre-order holders can start pre-loading on November 12 at local midnight. Pre-loading means downloading the game ahead of launch, so it is ready to play when the release date arrives.
The Ultimate Edition adds vehicles, weapons and clothing that are exclusive to it. Those items are tied into the story of Jason and Lucia, the two characters at the centre of the game, Reuters reported.
Rockstar released the first trailer in December 2023 and a second in May 2025. The release date was confirmed in the company's store listing, which describes the game as scheduled for November 19, 2026.
For players who do not own a suitable console, the hardware cost is a separate question. A PlayStation 5 with 1TB of storage costs US$649.99, and an equivalent Xbox Series X costs US$799.99, according to a Yahoo Tech comparison published on 28 August.
Anyone planning to play at launch will want to check their storage space before November 12. A digital download of a game this size takes up a lot of room, and the pre-load window opens a week before the release date.
