Principal photography has wrapped on Get Off Your Phone, the feature directorial debut of Chelsea Frei, according to Deadline. Principal photography is the main shoot, the stretch when most of the film's scenes are recorded.

Frei also wrote the screenplay and stars in the film. She plays Daniela, a social media influencer whose career has been cancelled. Her character retreats with her boyfriend to rural Wisconsin, hoping to step away from the online world entirely.

Her boyfriend, Jackson, is played by Jon Rudnitsky. Maria Bakalova plays Rada, and the two actors share the screen with Frei throughout the cast.

The film is described as a satirical horror comedy. It mixes social satire, the sharp poking fun at modern habits, with psychological horror and dark comedy. Frei's film sits in that genre blend, where a funny premise can turn unsettling without warning.

Three production companies are attached: Phiphen Pictures, Framehound and Doom and Gloom. The producing team includes Molly Conners, Amanda Bowers, Andi Matichak, Emma Thorne, Gillian Williams and Frei herself. A list that long usually means a film has passed through several hands before the cameras rolled, and each of those names had a part in getting it made.

Wrapping is a milestone that often goes unnoticed outside the industry. Once the cameras stop, the film moves into editing, sound and visual effects work. Decisions about a release date, a distributor or a festival slot usually come later, and none of those has been announced for this film.

For anyone who has ever set down a phone and wondered what it would feel like to keep it down, the premise lands close to home. The film takes that everyday urge and pushes it into a rural setting where the quiet is anything but calm.
