Isabela Merced to Play Lorena Bobbitt in Hulu's Good American Family

Isabela Merced will play Lorena Bobbitt in the next season of Hulu's true-crime anthology Good American Family, Deadline reported on 2 November 2026.

Patrick Schwarzenegger has been cast as John Bobbitt, Lorena's one-time husband. The new season is a limited series, meaning it runs for a set number of episodes and then ends rather than returning year after year. It is not yet titled. The Bobbitt story, about the Virginia couple, will be the second instalment of the anthology, which uses a different true story for each season.

The season comes from the studio 20th Television. Katie Robbins is its creator and writer, and she is also an executive producer alongside Ellen Pompeo.

The anthology is not new. Good American Family debuted on Hulu in March 2025. Deadline reports that the series has amassed more than 140 million hours streamed globally on Hulu and Disney+. An hours-streamed figure adds up every hour that viewers have spent watching, so a show with many viewers can rack up a large total quickly.

For viewers, the news is that a second story is on its way with a new cast. For the people who work on it, a limited series means a defined run of filming, writing and post-production, with a clear end date for the crew. Cast announcements like this one often come well before a premiere date, so the season is still some way off.

A premiere date and release window for the new season are still to come.
