Jonathan Rhys Meyers will star in Pretty Kill Machine, a vampire romance, according to Deadline. He will play the man that Vee falls in love with.

Vee is a supernatural being who has walked the earth since before recorded history. Her existence is thrown into crisis when she falls in love for the first time. The story is set in and around Joshua Tree, a desert area in southern California.

Rhys Meyers is known to television viewers for his vampire role. He previously starred as Dracula for NBC and Sky, and he has also appeared in The Tudors and Vikings.

Matthew Wilder is adapting the script and directing. David Hillary and Yariv Lerner are producing. Lerner is chief executive of Nu Boyana Studios, one of the founding partners of Quantify.

Quantify is an international sales and distribution company. It was formed by Nu Boyana Studios, Dark Matter Studios, Government Island and Film Forge Media. It made its official debut at the 2025 Cannes Marché du Film, the trade market held alongside the Cannes Film Festival.

Sales companies take finished or near-finished films to buyers from around the world. Those buyers decide where a film will play, whether in cinemas, on streaming services or on television. Quantify will start selling Pretty Kill Machine ahead of the American Film Market, or AFM, a deal-making event for independent films held each year in California.

For Bulgarian audiences, Nu Boyana says that through its sales company Quantify it will bring premium international content to the country. The studio's statement did not give a release date or a buyer for the film, and none has been announced.

What makes this stand out is the cast-and-crew path: a well-known television vampire returning to the genre, backed by a sales company that is only a year and a half old. The next concrete step will come from the buyers who see the film at AFM.
