Black Snow Season 3 Premieres January 1 on Stan, With Travis Fimmel Back as Detective

Black Snow Season 3 will premiere on January 1 with a double episode on Stan, the Australian streaming service. Deadline reported the date and a trailer as an exclusive.
Travis Fimmel returns as James Cormack, the detective who works on cold-case mysteries, meaning old crimes that were never solved. He is also an executive producer on the series. He directs Season 3 alongside Daniel Nettheim and Christiaan Van Vuuren, so he is one of the people shaping the season from behind the camera as well as in front of it.
George Mason is back as Ritchie Cormack. The new season centres on the coming trial of Ritchie, who is accused of murdering his best friend, Liam Knox, in 1999. The story has also moved. Season 3 leaves the fictional town of Moorevale for the tropical far north of Queensland, a northern region of Australia.
New cast members include Lee Tiger Halley, Caroline Craig, Aaron Jeffery, Samson Alston, Rose Riley, Wayne Blair and Charmaine Bingwa. Blair also appears in the cast list as a director of the series. Deadline names all seven as joining for this season.
Black Snow is a Stan Original, a series that Stan commissioned and streams first. The show is made by Goalpost Pictures. In the United States, its home is AMC Global Media. Stan's own listing shows Seasons 1 and 2 streaming now and marks Season 3 as in production.
The New Year slot is not new for the show. Stan set January 1, 2025 as the launch date for Season 2, so this season follows a similar schedule. Viewers in Australia will have about two months to catch up on the earlier seasons before the new episodes arrive.
For fans in Australia, the practical news is simple. Mark January 1 and start with the first two seasons if you have not seen them. Viewers elsewhere will need to check with their local distributor, since AMC Global Media, not Stan, is the U.S. home of the series.
