Prince William and Prince George Head to Barcelona to Watch Aston Villa

Prince William and his son Prince George are travelling to Barcelona to watch Aston Villa play, Hello magazine reported on 3 November 2026. The match is a UEFA Champions League game, the top club competition in European football, against FC Barcelona at Spotify Camp Nou, the Barcelona stadium. Kick-off is at 20:00 GMT on Tuesday 3 November.
Prince William is 44 and has followed Aston Villa for many years. Hello describes him as a long-time fan of the Birmingham club. ESPN, citing a source, reported that he will attend the match. The Sun also reported that William and George will be at Camp Nou to cheer the team on.
George's trip falls during his half-term break from Eton College, the school he attends. Half-term is a short holiday in the middle of the school term, usually lasting about a week.
The Champions League is organised in stages. This match is Matchday 4 of the league phase, the first part of the competition, which began on 8 September 2026 and runs until 27 January 2027. Each team plays a set number of matches against different opponents, and the results decide who goes through to the knockout rounds.
The pair have watched Villa in this competition before. In April 2025 William and George attended the second leg of Villa's quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain at Villa Park. Villa lost that night and went out of the competition, according to The Sun.
George has been a Villa supporter from an early age. In October 2019, Hello reported that he jumped up and down and screamed when Villa scored against Norwich City. William had taken George and his sister Princess Charlotte to that match, the Telegraph reported at the time.
For football fans, the Barcelona game is a chance to see Villa on one of Europe's biggest stages. For the travelling pair, it is a short trip during a school holiday, and a return to a fixture they have watched before.
