Prince George Joins Prince William for Aston Villa in Barcelona

Prince William and his son, Prince George, watched Aston Villa play Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The match was played at Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, and Villa lost 3-0.
The Champions League is the top club competition in European football, where the continent's leading teams play each other. Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is a long-standing supporter of Aston Villa, the Birmingham club. The Telegraph reported that father and son were seen cheering on the team during the game.
George, who is 13, is on half-term break from Eton College in Windsor, where he boards during term. He started at the school in September. Hello! reported that George appeared to rest his head on his father's shoulder during the match.
Before kick-off, Barcelona president Joan Laporta, the club's elected leader, presented the two visitors with Barcelona shirts. Prince William had made earlier European away trips to watch Villa, according to ESPN.
The trip was private rather than official. AS reported that the attendance was not a royal engagement, which means it does not appear as a public duty in the Court Circular, the daily official record of the royal family's engagements.
Prince William is also president of The Football Association, the governing body for the sport in England. That role is separate from his support for Villa, and the match was not part of it.
