The Cure's Robert Smith Teases 2027 Concerts, Promises New Songs

The Cure are planning more concerts for 2027, and frontman Robert Smith has hinted that the shows will include new music. He made the teaser in a voicemail played on Nick Grimshaw's show on BBC Radio 6, according to Billboard, published on 4 November 2026.
Smith said the 2027 concerts will be "bursting with new songs," a phrase NME also reported. He did not say where or when the shows will happen. He told listeners he is not yet allowed to reveal those details.
That leaves fans waiting for an official announcement. Concert dates usually come from the band or its promoter, and they often go on sale through ticketing companies, with prices set in the local currency of each venue. No dates, venues or ticket prices had been published at the time of the reports.
The band has been busy in recent months. Their run in support of Songs of a Lost World, their first studio album since 4:13 Dream in 2008, took in more than a dozen European festivals. It ended on 30 August at Rock en Seine, a festival in Saint-Cloud, France. The album itself came out in 2024.
Smith also gave a rare live moment to another act this year. In June, he and Olivia Rodrigo performed "What's Wrong With Me" together for the first time at Primavera Sound, the festival in Barcelona, Spain.
For a band with a long history of touring, a new round of dates is the sort of news that sets off quick sales and travel plans. Whether the shows feature new songs in full, or only in part, is not yet known. For now, the one firm detail is the promise itself, and the wait for the rest.
