Comedian Gianmarco Soresi's new stand-up special, 'God Forbid', will premiere worldwide on Netflix on 3 December, Deadline reported.

It is Soresi's second full-length stand-up special and his first for the streamer. A stand-up special is a recorded live comedy set, usually about an hour long. This one was filmed over a sold-out run at Chicago's Thalia Hall. Soresi wrote and performs it, and Eric Abrams directed it. Soresi, Tovah Silbermann and Matthew Vaughan are the executive producers for Rotten Science.

Soresi has built an audience on his own terms before this deal. He self-released his 2025 hour, 'Thief of Joy', meaning he put it out without a studio or streamer behind it. On YouTube, it drew more than 1 million views in its first week and more than 6 million views in total, according to Deadline.

His television record is already sizeable. He has performed on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', 'The Late Late Show with James Corden', Comedy Central and 'Don't Tell'. He appeared in Netflix's 'Verified Stand-Up' series, alongside Asif Ali, Sabrina Wu, Rosebud Baker and Dulcé Sloan, as Netflix's title page lists it. He was picked as one of the JFL New Faces, a talent showcase run by the Just for Laughs comedy festival, in 2022. Deadline also named him one of its Comedians Ready to Break Out in 2025.

He has stayed busy between specials. In August he released 'He Don't Miss!', a crowd work hour, which is comedy built around banter with people in the audience. He hosts the podcast 'The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi' and the recurring New York show 'Theater Adult'. He is also on 'The Misery Loves Tour', which covers 30 cities across eight countries. His representatives are listed as WME, Mosaic and Cohen Gardner.

For viewers, the key detail is the date. 'God Forbid' arrives on Netflix in every country where the service operates on 3 December, so there is no need to hunt for it on another platform.
