Quiver Takes North American Rights to Clive Owen's Holocaust Drama

Quiver Distribution has acquired the North American rights to The Night of Broken Glass, a historical drama starring Clive Owen, according to Deadline. The company will release the film in cinemas across the United States and Canada on January 29.
The title is the English version of Kristallnacht, the German name for the wave of violence against Jewish people across Germany in November 1938. The film is set in Berlin during that month and is based on those events. Its title refers to the thousands of shops, businesses and synagogues the Nazis destroyed.
The cast is led by Owen, with Mélanie Laurent and Alexander Pettyfer. Stefan Ruzowitzky directs. The screenplay is credited to Jonathan Frank, Scott Mann, Uli Edel and Julius Grützke. The film is produced by Dor Film, Benaroya Pictures and The Launch Company.
The film has already found buyers abroad. IFT handles international sales, the business of licensing a film to distributors in other countries, and it is the company that has been placing the film overseas. Back in November 2024, at the American Film Market, a deal-making event where buyers and sellers trade films, Deadline reported that the Owen-led project had sold to buyers in Germany and Italy.
Distribution rights decide which company puts a film in front of audiences in a given country. For North America, that means the company handles the cinema release, the advertising and the timing. Quiver now holds those decisions for the film's release on January 29.
