Nicki Minaj shared an AI-generated image of the Chucky doll on Election Day, urging people to vote Republican. The picture shows the killer doll from the Child's Play horror films in a pink suit with a "Vote Red" badge. She captioned it "HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!" on X.

The franchise's creator, Don Mancini, answered within hours. Writing from his account, @RealDonMancini, he posted "Chucky has a trans kid" beside a photo of a Chucky doll holding a Glenda figurine. Glen/Glenda is Chucky and Tiffany's offspring in the series, and that character's gender and expression shift across the films.

Mancini went further in his replies. He wrote that Chucky protects the dolls, that Chucky is anti-ICE, and that a "BLUE WAVE" is coming. He then posted "Too bad, Nicki!" with an edited image of Chucky with blue hair, adding the note "No AI, by the way! #bluewave."

Billboard reported that Mancini slammed the post, and Rolling Stone covered the exchange as well.

Minaj's political posts have drawn attention before. In February, Forbes reported a long rant in which she criticised Democrats and made allegations against Jay-Z and Chrissy Teigen. The same month, The Hollywood Reporter reported that her X account had been accused of using amplification bots, automated accounts that boost posts. In June, she shared AI images that included actress Sydney Sweeney, posted for Donald Trump's birthday.

For readers following the election, the exchange shows how the feud has moved onto the bright, cartoonish ground of a horror franchise. Mancini's replies are his own statements, and Minaj's post is the one that set them off.
