Four Tet has shared a new version of "Your Shadow at Morning" by the Durutti Column, the Manchester band led by Vini Reilly. The remix, released on 4 November 2026, turns the original's hazy sound into a tech-house track, a dance style built on a steady beat and looping grooves.

A remix is a new version of a song, reworked from its parts by another artist. This one takes its source from "Renascent", the Durutti Column's 2026 album. Pitchfork reported that the album is the band's first since 2010, a gap of around sixteen years.

Four Tet said he was asked to make the remix after the new album was announced. He said he had come to the Durutti Column only in the last couple of years, that he had explored their catalogue, and that the band had made a big impression on him. The Quietus and Louder Than War also published the remix on 4 November 2026.

The band's older records have a long life on the label side too. Factory Benelux, a label based in Brussels and associated with Les Disques du Crépuscule, lists the Durutti Column in its A-Z roster. Its catalogue includes the band's "Short Stories for Pauline", filed as FBN 36, and "LC", filed as FBN 10 CD.

For listeners, the remix is a new way into an older song. Anyone who knows the original will hear the same melody and mood placed on a dance floor rhythm. Anyone who has never heard the band has a clear starting point, with the new version and the album it comes from both available now.
