Filming has begun on Cinghiale, a horror film set in Italy, in the medieval town of Barga in the Province of Lucca, Tuscany. Deadline published the news as an exclusive on 4 November 2026, which means it was the first outlet to report it.

The title is Italian for wild boar. The film stars Richard Armitage, Britt Robertson and Quelin Sepulveda. Deadline identifies Armitage as known for his role in The Hobbit films.

The story follows two friends, played by Robertson and Sepulveda, who travel to a remote Italian village to settle a family estate. Armitage plays a charming hunter who has a terrifying secret. Kalil Sims and Alessandro Bertolucci also appear in the cast.

The film is produced by Devon Gulati, Michael Panico, Kendra Avinger and Elenna Sindler. Marco Allegri is listed as co-producer, a role that usually means sharing responsibility for running the production with the lead producers.

Jordan Tragash directs. Cinghiale is his second feature film, following his 2024 debut, Bam!

Shooting on location in a small, historic town is a choice that shapes a production in practical ways, from crew housing to local permits. Audiences will have to wait for a later announcement from the studio or distributor before they know when, or where, it will open.

For now, the details on the table are straightforward. A cast of three leads, a location in Tuscany, and a production team that has moved from planning to the camera.
