Writer-director Will Graham has wrapped production on Trust the Man, a Vietnam War thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff, with Kate Mara, Finn Wittrock, Justice Smith and Victor Garber joining the ensemble. Deadline broke the story as an exclusive on 3 August 2026.

The film was shot in New Jersey over the summer. It follows an ambitious Army Intelligence officer assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past during the Vietnam War — a premise that pairs a procedural spine with the moral murk of an overseas conflict that has anchored American cinema for half a century.

The cast runs deep. Mara, recently seen in Apple TV's Imperfect Women and FX's A Teacher, will next appear in Werner Herzog's Bucking Fastard, set to premiere in competition at this year's Venice Film Festival. Wittrock is currently in cinemas with Westhampton, has All That She Wants heading to the Toronto International Film Festival, and Hershey arriving in theatres at Thanksgiving. Justice Smith, fresh off Lionsgate's Now You See Me: Now You Don't, is next set for the holiday horror White Elephant alongside Nick Jonas, Kathryn Newton and KJ Apa. Victor Garber — a six-time Emmy and four-time Tony nominee — currently appears on Mindy Kaling's Hulu series Not Suitable for Work and has Netflix's Eloise on the way.

Rounding out the ensemble are Angus O'Brien, whose television credits include Elsbeth, Boots and FBI, and Jack Ball, an alum of Chicago Justice and Chicago P.D.

Behind the camera, Graham produces alongside Tonia Davis and Max Linsky for Invitation Media, Luke Rodgers, and Alex G. Scott. Jess Hackel and Jeffrey Penman co-produce. The executive producer roster includes Radcliffe himself, Christian Hall for Two Independent Eyes, Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale for QWGmire, David Gendron, Ali Jazayeri and Stefan Klink for Three Point Capital, Jeffrey Soros, and Hailey Wierengo.

Sales are already structured. UTA Independent Film Group is handling domestic rights — the United States and Canada — while Neon International takes international sales, the territory-by-territory deals that determine which distributors pick the film up overseas.

No release date has been set. With principal photography complete, the next steps are post-production and a festival-platform conversation that could shape how and when audiences see it.
