Stella McCartney and the Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara are opening a four-week pop-up in Tokyo, and their new collection goes on sale worldwide on 11 November.

The pop-up, called Isetan the Space, is on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku, the department store in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo. A pop-up is a temporary shop that opens for a set period before closing. The British label Stella McCartney, which is run by the designer of the same name, announced the event and the collaboration on 4 November 2026, according to WWD, the US trade publication.

This is the third collection the two have made together. It is a capsule, a small range of linked pieces rather than a full season. The collection includes ready-to-wear clothing, knitwear, shoes and accessories. Stella McCartney has previously described Nara as one of her favourite artists.

The range is built around what the brand calls a "rock 'n' roll forest", a theme that brings together nature, music and the childlike and animal figures that appear across Nara's work. The brand says the pieces pair his instantly recognisable characters with unexpected textures. Stella McCartney, which has long promoted animal-free and low-impact materials, says the collection is made from 100 percent responsible materials and from deadstock yarns and fabrics. Deadstock means unused material left over from earlier production.

Among the most unusual items are four exclusive styles made in very small numbers. They include vegan handbags, framed crocheted faces, and hand-knitted scarves and sweaters. The knitwear is offered on a made-to-order basis, meaning it is produced after a customer orders it rather than stocked in advance, according to WWD.

A separate product in the project is a sneaker from Adidas, the German sportswear company that works with Stella McCartney on a line of its own. The Adidas by Stella McCartney x Yoshitomo Nara SPW64 reworks the Tokyo 64 track shoe, a design first made for the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. It is made from lightweight recycled materials printed with Nara's artwork.

The campaign images feature the Japanese actor Ryo Ryusei and the model Mika Schnider. The brand has also set up a dedicated page for the collaboration on its website.

The limited-edition collection will launch globally on 11 November. It will be sold on the Stella McCartney website and at selected boutiques and retailers. Because the quantities are so small, the brand has not said how long any item will stay available.
