Rapper 50 Cent posted a birthday message to Sean "Diddy" Combs on Instagram on Wednesday, 4 November, and the post was not a simple greeting.

"Happy 57th B day Diddy wishing you many more, LOL," he wrote, according to Billboard. Combs turned 57 that day while still in prison.

The post also carried a jail photo of Combs, who appears dishevelled and has salt-and-pepper hair. Under it, 50 Cent added: "I told you he alright got his appeal going, Diddy good ! Happy Birthday LOL."

An appeal is a request for a higher court to review a conviction or sentence. It is not a guarantee of a different result.

Combs was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in prison. He had been convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, a federal charge that covers moving people across state lines for sex work. He is scheduled to be released in March 2028.

Combs has been one of the most closely followed figures in music business headlines for years, and his legal case has drawn attention far beyond the recording studio. For readers who came to this story through a birthday post, the key facts are simple: he is 57, he is in prison, and his release date is set for March 2028.
