Rajinikanth's "Jailer 2" Heads to Prime Video Worldwide From November 12

Rajinikanth's "Jailer 2" will reach viewers at home on Prime Video from November 12, the streaming service's worldwide premiere for the film, Variety reported on November 5.
The film will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Prime Video says it will be available in India and in more than 240 countries and territories. The service also says the film had a record-breaking theatrical run in India and overseas.
The film has grossed $86 million so far, according to Variety. Variety also reports that it is the highest-grossing Tamil-language film of all time.
Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, a retired prison officer. Nelson Dilipkumar directed the film, and Kalanithi Maran produced it through Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander composed the score.
The cast is large. Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan, Vijay Sethupathi and Shivarajkumar appear in cameo roles. The wider ensemble includes S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Ramya Krishnan, Namo Narayana and Yogi Babu.
Anyone who has not seen the first film has an easy way in. The original "Jailer" is already streaming on Prime Video, so viewers can watch it before the sequel arrives.
Economic Times reported on November 4 that the online version will include extra scenes that did not appear in cinemas.
For a film that has already drawn large crowds in cinemas, the streaming date opens a second audience. Prime Video's reach across more than 240 countries and territories means the film will be available to viewers far beyond the markets where it played in theatres.
