Prime Video will globally premiere Vadhandhi – The Mystery of Mani (Season 2) on August 7, 2026, bringing the Tamil-language crime thriller back for an eight-episode run. Variety confirmed the date on July 27.

M. Sasikumar returns as SI Moosa Raza, the police officer at the centre of the investigation. The new season's plot kicks off when skeletal remains surface during ceremonies marking the launch of a highway project, putting Moosa Raza on the trail of an elusive prisoner named Mani. The story is set in Madurai and weaves in the Jallikattu festival — the traditional bull-taming event held during the Tamil harvest season of Pongal — as its cultural backdrop.

Andrew Louis, who created and wrote the first season of Vadhandhi, returns to write and direct Season 2. Pushkar and Gayatri serve as creative producers under their banner Wallwatcher Films. The duo are no strangers to the platform: Wallwatcher previously produced both seasons of Suzhal – The Vortex, the first season of Vadhandhi (subtitled The Fable of Velonie), and the series Exam for Prime Video. The company's credits also include the short film The Mask and the Netflix feature Aelay.

The Season 2 cast includes Yashwanth, Anagha Maruthora, Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, Revathy Sharma, and Arjun Nandhakumar alongside Sasikumar. Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India, oversees the platform's original-content slate that Vadhandhi sits within.

For viewers outside the Tamil-speaking audience, Prime Video will offer dubs in Telugu and Hindi, with subtitles available in 15 languages including English. That aligns with the platform's approach to Indian originals — producing in one language, then widening access through dubbing and subtitles rather than separate remakes.

A global premiere means all eight episodes land on the same day across every market where Prime Video operates, rather than rolling out territory by territory. For a Tamil-language series, that lines up with how streaming has collapsed the old window between a domestic broadcast and an international release into a single worldwide moment.
