Fortnite Crew Ends Monthly Skins and OG Pass, Moves to Tiered V-Bucks

Fortnite Crew is dropping its monthly skin and the OG Pass, and subscribers will receive a growing amount of V-Bucks instead. Epic Games announced the changes on 4 November 2026. They take effect on 5 December 2026.

Fortnite Crew is the monthly subscription for Fortnite, the free-to-play game from Epic Games. It costs US$11.99 (£9.99) a month, and according to Epic the price stays at US$11.99 after the changes. The subscription is also included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Until now, Crew members have received a new cosmetic bundle each month. Those bundles are called Crew Packs, and cosmetics are outfits and other items that change how a character looks without affecting play. Video Games Chronicle reports that December's Crew Pack will be the last one. The OG Pass, a themed pass that unlocks older-style items, ends on 5 December.

Subscribers who already own Crew Pack Outfits but have not unlocked every Legacy Style will be granted the Legacy Styles they are missing. A Legacy Style is an older variant of an outfit.

The main change is to V-Bucks, Fortnite's in-game currency that players use to buy items. From 5 December, the monthly amount depends on how long someone has been a Crew member:

  • 1 to 2 months: 1,000 V-Bucks per month
  • 3 to 5 months: 1,200 V-Bucks per month
  • 6 to 11 months: 1,400 V-Bucks per month
  • 12 months or more: 1,600 V-Bucks per month

Existing membership length will count toward these tiers from 5 December, so long-time subscribers do not start again at the bottom. Crew members will also get an extra 20 per cent XP, the points that build up progress in the game, while playing Fortnite.

Some parts of the subscription stay the same. Fortnite's Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium remain included after the December changes.

Epic also said the next era of Fortnite OG will arrive in late 2027. No further details on that era were given in the announcement.

For players, the practical question is what they will receive each month. From 5 December, that answer depends on tenure.
