Israeli Attacks Kill at Least Four in Gaza, Including a Child

Israeli attacks killed at least four Palestinians, including a child, in central and southern Gaza on November 5, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera.

Among the dead was Abdul Rahim Walid Matar, 27. Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said he was killed at dawn when an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a tent west of az-Zawayda that was sheltering displaced people.

Nasser Medical Complex said a woman was killed and two people were wounded by Israeli fire outside areas under Israeli military control in Khan Younis. A source at al-Awda Hospital said a child was killed by Israeli fire in the Bureij refugee camp.

The deaths came during a ceasefire, a formal agreement to halt fighting, that took effect in Gaza on October 11, 2025. Gaza's Health Ministry says 1,602 Palestinians have been killed and 5,794 wounded since then. Its overall toll since October 2023, when the war began, stands at 74,618 killed and 175,920 wounded.

In its most recent update before the November 5 reports, the ministry said three Palestinians had been killed and 21 wounded in the previous 24 hours. One of the three had died of earlier wounds.

Gaza's Government Media Office said Israel had committed 5,989 ceasefire violations since the truce began. It said 753 of those occurred in October, including 346 shootings, 310 bombardments and 64 home demolitions.

Israel has said that Hamas has been rearming and launching attacks in violation of the ceasefire, according to Reuters.

Violence has continued in the days before. On Sunday, November 1, Israeli strikes killed at least eight Palestinians in two separate attacks, according to medics cited by Reuters.
