Jacob Tremblay and Kate McKinnon have joined the cast of the comedy I'm With Stupid, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 5 November 2026. Tremblay plays Noah, and McKinnon plays Principal Dunlap.

The story follows two directionless high school seniors from opposite ends of the social ladder. They are forced to work together so that neither of them fails senior year. Ego Nwodim is cast as Ms. Reed, and Chabely Ponce as Hadley.

Hannah Pearl Utt is directing from a script by Carolina Barlow and Peter Kelly. Mallory Schwartz and Jen Goyne Blake are producing, and Rich Delia is overseeing the casting.

Production is set for February and March 2027. That gives the film a clear start date on the production calendar, and the sales work begins well before any cameras roll.

That sales work is already under way. Upgrade is handling international sales, which means selling the film to buyers in countries outside the United States. The company will present I'm With Stupid to those buyers at the American Film Market, the trade event where distributors and sales agents do much of their deal-making.

Domestic sales, covering the United States and Canada, are being handled by UTA Film Finance Group and After Hours together. Both companies are co-representing the film in that market.

For a general audience, the news is simple. A cast is in place, a crew is named, and the film is being shopped to buyers before it starts shooting. Most films follow that path, with the marketplace deciding who sees a finished movie and where.
