Karol G, Bizarrap and Bad Gyal Added to Latin Grammy Performers

Karol G, Bizarrap, Bad Gyal and Nathy Peluso are among the newest performers for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, the Latin Recording Academy announced on Nov. 5. The ceremony takes place on Nov. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The academy also named Baby Ranks, Miguel Colón, Divino, DJ Premier, Diljit Dosanjh, Grupo Niche, Jay Wheeler, Lil Supa, Luis Enrique and Ángel "Cucco" Peña as performers, according to Billboard. An earlier wave, announced on Oct. 27, included Cristian Castro, Camila Fernández, Feid, Luis Figueroa, Fonseca, Grupo Frontera, Milo J, Niña Pastori, Reik and Sofía Reyes, as the Latin Recording Academy confirmed at the time.
Several of the performers are also in the running for prizes. Karol G is nominated for album of the year, the category that honours a complete album, for Tropicoqueta. Bad Gyal is nominated for best urban music album for Más Cara. Luis Enrique, Grupo Niche and Nathy Peluso are nominated for best salsa album.
Nominations were already known before the performer list. Rolling Stone reported in September that Edgar Barrera, Karol G and Rosalía led the field, which is the most nominations for any individual in the year's list. Nominees in the Latin Grammys are named in the categories they were entered into, so a single name can appear in more than one race.
The telecast will also carry tributes. Daddy Yankee will be honoured as the academy's Person of the Year. A tribute to Willie Colón will be led by Ennio Gatti, who will front Colón's original 13-piece band. Colón received the academy's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. A tribute to the Mexican songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez will have Edgar Barrera as musical producer.
Roselyn Sánchez will host. A one-hour pre-show begins at 7 p.m. ET, and the main telecast starts at 8 p.m. ET on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión and ViX.
For viewers, the broadcast is the easiest way to see the lineup. Many of the artists are touring or recording elsewhere, so a live Las Vegas stage on a single night is a rare chance to see several of them together. Those who want to follow the awards can watch the pre-show for the early announcements and the main telecast for the winners.
The ceremony is one week away on Nov. 12. Winners will be read out live in Las Vegas, and the broadcast will show the reactions as they happen.
