Victony's SLICK Passes 130 Million Streams Worldwide
Victony's single SLICK has passed 130 million streams around the world, according to Music Business Worldwide, which reported the figure on 5 November 2026. A stream is one play on a streaming service, so the total counts every time the song has been played on those platforms.
The label behind the song, Encore Recordings, gave a country split. The company says SLICK has recorded 32 million streams in the United States and 18 million in the United Kingdom. On Spotify alone, the song had passed 55 million streams as of 4 November.
The song has also done well on the charts. SLICK spent 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the UK's Official Afrobeats Chart, a weekly ranking of songs in Afrobeats, a dance-driven pop genre that grew out of West African music. On Billboard's US Afrobeats Songs chart, it peaked at No. 2.
Fans have also made their own versions. Encore Recordings says the song has generated more than 5.5 million TikTok creates, meaning videos that users have made using the track as a soundtrack.
SLICK appears on STARLIFE, Victony's album, which came out on 21 August. Victony's managers, Shay Royale and Elochukwu Ububa, were executive producers of the album, which means they oversaw its overall creative direction. Earlier, his song Soweto came from his EP Outlaw.
Encore Recordings signed Victony in 2022. The company describes itself as an independent, full-service music company, meaning it is not owned by one of the three major record groups, and it handles recording, releases and marketing for its artists. It is headquartered in Los Angeles and was launched in November 2021 by Joie Manda, a former executive vice president at Interscope Geffen A&M. Ned Monahan, who has run the company as president since April 2025, previously headed global hits at Spotify.
Encore says it has grown its roster across Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. For a label built around artists from across Africa, a single song's numbers in the US and UK show how far it has travelled beyond its home markets.
Streams pay out in very small amounts, so a total like 130 million measures reach more than it measures income. Still, the figure gives the label, the artist and their partners a clear marker of how many people have pressed play.
