New West Records Names Brad Turcotte General Manager

New West Records has named Brad Turcotte as its general manager, according to a Billboard report published on 5 November 2026. A general manager runs a label's day-to-day business, overseeing its staff, its artists and its relationships with partners.
Turcotte is not new to the music business. He founded Compadre Records, based in Houston, Texas, in 2001.
His career has also taken him across several parts of the industry. He worked as an artist manager at Vector Management, the firm that looks after performers' careers and negotiates on their behalf. He later served as senior vice president at TEG Live, an Australia-based live entertainment promoter that organises concerts and tours. He was also a partner at 615 Leverage + Strategy, a marketing agency, where he was one of the firm's owners.
On the major label side, he held leadership roles at UMG Nashville, which is now known as MCA. That company is part of Universal Music Group, one of the three largest record companies in the world. He also held a leadership role at Big Machine Label Group, an independent label group.
Outside the office, Turcotte sits on the board of directors of Music Will, a nonprofit music education program. Board members help set a charity's direction and hold its leaders to account.
New West's artist roster includes Billy Joe Shaver, Amos Lee, American Aquarium, 49 Winchester and All Them Witches. For a label with that mix of names, the general manager's job is to keep the company's releases, budgets and partnerships working together from one week to the next.
For the people on that roster, the appointment is a change at the top. For the staff, it is a new boss with a long run in managing, promoting and marketing music. Both sides now have a clearer picture of who is steering the label's day-to-day work.
