Cleo Reed Announces New EP, Is This How Empires Die?, Due December 4

New York-based artist Cleo Reed has announced a new EP, Is This How Empires Die?, which is out on December 4, according to Pitchfork. An EP, short for extended play, is a release longer than a single but shorter than a full album.
The lead single is "American Dream." Reed works across more than one art form, and her recent music has been part of that wider practice. She released the album Cuntry in 2025, her second album.
The EP's tracklist, as listed on the RA event page, includes "American Dream," "Bottom Dollar," "Rubber" and "There Will Be." The release also includes a poem by journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, according to the same listing.
The music video for "American Dream" premiered on November 5 at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time on YouTube. The video was filmed on the Fourth of July at the Demery Family Rodeo in Oklahoma. Reed's team has pointed viewers to a single link for the track and its release details, cleoreed.lnk.to/americandream, which is listed in the video's description.
The track is credited to ℗ 2026 Reeding LLC, the company that supplied the preview to YouTube in late October. That credit is a standard rights notice. It shows who owns the recording, and it does not say how the EP will be sold or streamed.
For listeners, the timing is simple. The single and video are out now, and the full EP arrives on December 4. Anyone wanting the rest of the record will have to wait a few weeks, but the first song is already on the platforms where they listen.
