Russian Missile Strike on Kyiv Injures Residents and Damages Homes and a Kindergarten

Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight, on the night of November 6 to 7, 2026, injuring people and damaging residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital. Ballistic missiles are long-range weapons that travel along a high arc before descending on their target.
Kyiv's military administration said two people were injured. Pravda reported three injured people, one of them a child. Kyiv's military administration also said a building housing a kindergarten was damaged.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris struck a five-storey apartment building in a western district of the city. He said the facade of another residential building was damaged. Pravda reported fires in the Solomianskyi district following the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing new attacks on energy targets, bridges and other infrastructure. Reuters reported that officials continued to warn Kyiv residents of the possibility of more strikes hours after the missile attack.
Separately, US-led talks between Ukrainian and Russian delegations were scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, three days after the Kyiv attack.
