Jodie Sweetin says she had to borrow money during her first week working on Fuller House, the Netflix revival of the sitcom that made her famous. In an interview published this week, Variety reported, she said she had about $190 in her bank account going into her first paycheck from the show.

Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner on the original Full House, which ran for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995. Its sequel, Fuller House, brought many of the original cast back for five seasons on Netflix, totalling nearly 80 episodes. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who had played the Tanner twins, did not return for the revival.

Sweetin shared the story on the podcast We're Still Here, Babe. She said none of the people she worked with knew about her financial situation at the time. Her money troubles came before she landed the role, and she has not said publicly how long they lasted.

Page Six reported that Sweetin described those struggles as humbling and embarrassing. Her account of them came in a wide-ranging conversation.

For a show that ran on a streaming service for five seasons, a first paycheck is a small detail. Still, it is a reminder that television casts and crews are paid on a schedule, and that a job can arrive while a performer is still short of cash.

Sweetin has spoken on the record about borrowing money and the $190 balance. She made the remarks on a podcast, and she said her co-workers did not know. The reports of her comments were published on 6 and 7 November 2026.
