Celine Dion Meets Metallica Backstage After Sphere Show

Celine Dion went backstage to meet Metallica after the band's November 7 concert at Sphere in Las Vegas, and she has shared the photos. Billboard reported that she attended the show with the actor Jack Black.
Afterwards, Dion met the band's members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo. She posted behind-the-scenes pictures from the meeting on Instagram. One group photo shows Dion posing with her sons, Eddy and Nelson Angélil, and the four members of Metallica.
Dion had also been at the band's November 5 performance at Sphere. A Consequence report from November 6 said she played air bass, the mime-style guitar move of strumming with no instrument, while she watched the band play.
The November 7 show closed Metallica's fall 2026 run of its Life Burns Faster residency at the venue. A residency is a series of concerts in one place, rather than a tour that moves from city to city. The band opened the run at Sphere on October 1.
Sphere is a domed venue in Las Vegas with a very large interior screen, and it has become a regular stop for big-name acts. Dion has performed there herself, which may be one reason the venue appears so often in her public life. Metallica's run is one of several residencies the building has hosted.
For fans, the moment was a reminder that concerts draw more than the people on stage. Artists from different corners of music often find themselves in the same crowd, and sometimes the same dressing room. The photos from this week show a shared night out, not a new project, and neither Dion nor Metallica has announced any joint work.
