Olivia Rodrigo's album is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200

Olivia Rodrigo's album 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the U.S. weekly album chart. Billboard reported on Nov. 8, 2026 that the album rose from No. 2 to No. 1 on the chart dated Nov. 14. The full chart was due to be posted on Billboard's website on Nov. 10.
It is the album's fourth week at the top, though not in a row. It first reached No. 1 on the chart dated June 27 and has not dropped out of the top five in 21 weeks on the list.
The return came on a smaller total than the album's earlier weeks. The album earned 57,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the tracking week ending Nov. 5, down 10%, according to Luminate, the data company that counts sales and streams for the chart. Equivalent album units convert streams and sales into one album-sales measure. Of that total, 49,500 came from streaming, equal to 53.33 million on-demand official streams.
That 57,000 is the lowest total for a weekly No. 1 album in more than a year. The last one that small was SZA's 'SOS', which opened at No. 1 with 52,000 units on the chart dated May 3, 2025.
The chart's other big move belongs to Michael Jackson. 'Thriller' jumped from No. 13 to No. 2 on the Billboard 200, its highest rank in more than 40 years. The album earned 55,000 units in the Oct. 30 to Nov. 5 tracking week, up 89%. It was last this high in spring 1984, when it spent its 37th and final week at No. 1.
Much of that rise followed a reissue. On Oct. 30, the album came out in three new vinyl variants and a cassette. Of its 22,000 album sales in the latest tracking week, 19,000 were vinyl records. Sales are a separate count from streams, so a reissue like this can lift an older album's sales without changing how many times people played it.
Several newer acts also made the top 10. ILLIT earned its first top 10 on the Billboard 200 as 'BREAK EVEN' debuted at No. 6. BigXthaPlug earned his third top 10 with 'Better Over Time' at No. 7. Queens of the Stone Age earned their fifth top 10 as 'Perfecth' debuted at No. 10.
For fans waiting on the next chart, the Nov. 14 list will show whether Rodrigo's album can hold the top spot against the reissue's momentum. That answer arrives when the chart posts on Nov. 10.
