Hulu launched its new crime drama Furious on July 27, 2026, dropping the first three of eight episodes on the streaming platform. The series stars Emmy Rossum — known to audiences as Fiona Gallagher on Shameless — as FBI agent Alice Black, drawn into a case involving a young woman targeting former abusers.

Lola Petticrew, previously seen in Say Nothing, plays Catherine, a child trafficking victim turned vigilante. The cast also includes Jake Lacy as Alice's ex-boyfriend, an NYPD detective; Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Nora Washington, Alice's supervisor; and Scoot McNairy in a role detailed by Disney's press materials. Ariel Marx composed the score.

Elizabeth Meriwether created the series and serves as writer and executive producer. Meriwether's previous credits include New Girl and The Dropout. Rossum also holds an executive producer credit alongside her starring role.

The show takes loose inspiration from the 1987 thriller Black Widow. A promotional article published on Disney Plus on July 21 described Furious as a "gripping new crime thriller" arriving on July 27, and an official trailer dropped on Hulu's YouTube channel on June 27. The first season runs eight episodes, with three released on launch day and the remainder expected to follow on a weekly schedule.

Variety published its review of the series on July 27, offering a detailed assessment of Rossum's performance and Meriwether's writing. RogerEbert.com published its own review on July 22, calling Furious "one of the best of the year" — a notable early reception for a show arriving in the thick of summer streaming competition.
