Hulu has launched the first three episodes of Furious, an eight-episode crime thriller starring Emmy Rossum as a traumatised FBI agent chasing a serial killer who preys on wealthy, powerful men in New York City — predators cut from the cloth of Jeffrey Epstein (Variety, 28 July 2026).

The series premiered on 27 July, according to Hulu parent Disney's communications (Disney press portal). The first three instalments are available to stream now, with the remaining five episodes set to roll out across the coming weeks (Variety, 28 July 2026).

Rossum plays Alice Black, an FBI agent carrying deep personal trauma, who uses secrets from the killer's own past to track her down (Variety, 10 July 2025; Variety, 26 July 2026). The killer, named Catherine, is played by Lola Petticrew (Variety, 26 June 2025). Catherine's targets are powerful men who exploit others — a premise the show frames around the spectre of Epstein and his circle (Variety, 28 July 2026).

The cast rounds out with Scoot McNairy, Jake Lacey, and Quincy Tyler Bernstine in co-starring roles. Lacey plays Alice's abusive ex-boyfriend, threading a personal line of danger through the professional hunt (Variety, 28 July 2026).

Elizabeth Meriwether — best known as the creator of New Girl — serves as series creator and showrunner, the writer-producer who shapes the story across episodes and runs the writers' room (Variety, 28 July 2026). Karina Evans directed episodes of the series.

The seed for Furious came from an older film. Rossum brought the idea to Hulu after watching the 1987 thriller Black Widow, starring Debra Winger as a federal agent pursuing a woman who marries and murders wealthy men (Variety, 28 July 2026). The DNA of that cat-and-mouse structure is visible in Furious: an agent and a killer circling each other, each holding something the other needs.

For viewers, the pitch is straightforward — a cat-and-mouse thriller built around a killer whose victims are themselves predators, led by a showrunner with a proven comedy track record taking on something considerably darker. The first three episodes are streaming on Hulu now.
