Zendaya's Spider-Man Press Tour Becomes a Fashion Event of Its Own

Zendaya closed out the global press tour for Spider-Man: Brand New Day with a black satin Ashi Studio corset and a sweeping architectural train at the film's Los Angeles premiere on 27 July 2026. Her longtime stylist Law Roach told Variety the look was "an abstract way to present the spider," describing it as "this metamorphosis of this woman into this thing" (Variety). Boucheron jewellery completed the ensemble.
The Los Angeles premiere was the final stop on a four-city run that turned each red carpet into its own fashion moment. In Shanghai, Zendaya wore dramatic baby bangs and a spiderweb-motif dress (People). In Mexico City on 21 July, she chose a sheer black high-neck Ashi Studio Spring/Summer 2026 couture gown with web-like embroidery and beaded fringe (WWD). And back in June, the London premiere saw her in an archival spiderweb dress from John Galliano's 1997 "Circus" collection for the house — a piece nearly three decades old.
The throughline is clear: every look has nodded, sometimes literally, to the spider at the centre of the film. Roach built a wardrobe around the motif, moving from vintage couture to contemporary couture to a $34.99 eBay find. For a fan event in Paris, Zendaya wore a vintage Spider-Man T-shirt that Roach bought on the auction site. He posted the listing on his Instagram Story with the caption: "Style doesn't always have to cost a fortune" (Variety).
Asked to name a favourite from the tour, Roach said he "can't pick a favorite" (Variety). He is already planning Zendaya's looks for the Dune: Part Three press tour, telling Variety: "it's gonna be great."
Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Zendaya alongside her husband Tom Holland. The plot follows Peter Parker navigating a world where his friends and family have forgotten him. Destin Daniel Cretton directs. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman. The film reaches theatres on 31 July (Variety).
For a franchise built on a character who swings between worlds, the fashion strategy has mirrored that spirit — archival and brand-new, couture and eBay, across four cities and three continents. The clothes have functioned as their own marketing campaign, each premiere generating coverage that lives well beyond the film pages.
