Tom Holland and Zendaya Wrap Global Tour as Spider-Man: Brand New Day Eyes July 31 Release

Tom Holland and Zendaya have crossed nine cities on three continents promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the film does not open in US theatres until July 31. The world tour — Madrid, Berlin, Rome, Paris, London, New York, Mexico City, Shanghai and Los Angeles — culminated in a July 27 premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood (Deadline; Page Six).

The scale of the campaign matches the early commercial signals. Brand New Day posted the best first-day presales of any film in five years, according to Deadline. Tickets went on sale in mid-June, when Marvel.com confirmed the July 31 theatrical date (Marvel.com).

Sony Pictures distributes the film, which Destin Daniel Cretton directed from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (Deadline; Wikipedia). The cast adds Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Mark Ruffalo to the returning leads (Deadline).

The logline places Peter Parker in a world that has forgotten him — he fights crime as Spider-Man while his old friends move on without knowing who he is. Holland, who first revealed the title at CinemaCon (Sony Pictures Benelux), described returning to the role as "like hanging out with an old pal." He also noted that the production shot on real locations rather than soundstages, including the streets of Glasgow for a set-piece sequence (Deadline).

For Holland and Zendaya, who married earlier this year (Page Six), the tour has been as much a public appearance as a professional one. Red-carpet coverage from Berlin's German fan event on June 22 through to Los Angeles has tracked both the film and the couple's wardrobe across every stop (WWD; Page Six).

Marvel's own promotional pipeline has fed the build since last August, when Marvel.com unveiled a new Spider-Man suit design (Marvel.com, August 2025). Official teaser posters followed at CinemaCon in April (Marvel.com, April 2026).

Brand New Day arrives in US theatres on July 31, distributed by Sony Pictures.
